Jake Speakman

Jake Speakman discovered his passion for performing at 13 through theater in the suburbs of Philadelphia, which ignited a path to purpose and opportunity. Through the mission of New York City Dance Alliance, Jake was awarded the opportunity to pursue dance at the collegiate level at Marymount Manhattan College, where he graduated as part of the class of 2020 with a concentration in Ballet. Currently a Company Member of Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, Jake has performed in 11 countries and across the U.S., taking on both male and female leading roles in ballets such as Swan Lake Act II (as Odette), Le Corsaire Pas de Deux, and George Balanchine’s Tarantella.

Jake is thrilled to be joining Ballet22’s 2025 summer season! This company played a pivotal role in inspiring him to pursue dancing en pointe as a male dancer. Through the use of pointe shoes, Jake has redefined his artistic journey, carving out a unique space as a queer artist. With Ballet22, Jake looks forward to continuing to reshape the landscape of queer dance, and it is an honor to contribute to a legacy that is actively reimagining what is possible for future generations of dancers!
