Jake Speakman

Jake Speakman began dancing in the suburbs of Philadelphia, which ignited a path to purpose and opportunity. Through the mission of New York City Dance Alliance, Jake earned the opportunity to pursue dance at the collegiate level at Marymount Manhattan College, where he graduated as part of the class of 2020 with a concentration in Ballet. Currently a Company Member of Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, Jake has performed in 11 countries and across the U.S., taking on both male and female leading roles in ballets such as Odette in Swan Lake Act II, Le Corsaire Pas de Deux, George Balanchine’s Tarantella, and the lead ballerina in Paquita.

Jake joined Ballet22 for his first season in Summer 2025, where he contributed to the reinterpretation of Rodrick George’s You Can Have Me! Jake is thrilled to be returning for Ballet22’s 2026 summer season. This company played a pivotal role in inspiring him to pursue dancing en pointe as a male dancer. With Ballet 22, Jake looks forward to continuing to reshape the landscape of queer dance, and contribute to a legacy that is actively reimagining what is possible for future generations of dancers.
