He started to study ballet at 9 years old, at the School of the National Ballet of Cuba. In 1999 he started taking part in various international dance competitions all over the world. In Cuba he won the Gold Medal and Best Talent in 1999, 2000 and 2002. He also won the Gold Medal at the 2002 International Ballet Competition in Nayoga, Japan. Carlos graduated at the Cuban National Ballet School in 2002, and soon, at only 18 years old, he became Principal Dancer at the National Ballet of Cuba. In 2004 he moved to Costa Rica, where he danced as a Principal Dancer for 3 years for the National Contemporary Dance Company. In 2008 he won the award Best Dancer of the Year in Costa Rica. In 2009 he moved to the USA and was soon hired as a Principal Dancer at Ballet San Antonio in Texas. Since 2012 Carlos dances as Principal Dancer with the Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo. He began his training in hip hop, jazz and ballet in Taller de Bailes LeDaph in Manatí, PR at age 14. He then continued his pre-professional ballet training with Marie Carmen Márquez, Ana María Castañón, Orlando Carreras and Victor Gilí, and also studied at The School of Ballets de San Juan, Conservatory of Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico and Specialized School in Ballet Julián E. Blanco, where he graduated from Level 8. He attended summer courses at Joffrey Ballet School, The Washington School of Ballet, The School of Nashville Ballet and San Francisco Ballet School. After a season as an apprentice with Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico, Mr. Vega Ortiz decided to expand his studies at Miami City Ballet School in the fall of 2015 with teachers including Geta Constantinescu, María Torija and Olivier Pardina. In 2016 he joined the second company of Nashville Ballet where he danced leading roles with the main company. He later joined Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo in 2017, where he toured extensively in countries such as Japan, Italy, Portugal, France, Mexico, United Kingdom, Ireland, Serbia, Germany and the US, performing female soloist and principal roles en pointe. He did not begin serious piano training until his 17, but this did not stop him from achieving ten first prizes in young national and international piano competitions. Jorge holds a Bachelors in Music and a Masters in Piano Performance from the Valencian International University, both earned with honors. In 2016, he moved to the United States of America to study at Penn State University, and he ended up earning the Professional Performance Diploma (2016) and the Doctors of Musical Arts degree with honors (2020). During his stay at Penn State, he worked as a piano teaching assistant and as rehearsal pianist for both opera and musical theatre on-campus productions. In 2018, Natasha received an Emmy for her work in the TV special Baseballet 2: Into the Game. In 2014 she was the recipient of an Isadora Duncan Dance Award for her performance in Two if by Sea, choreographed by Kimi Okada. Natasha is the Founder and Artistic Director of Concept o4. Through Co4, she directed, choreographed, and danced in the film Take Your Time (2017), which became an official selection of the Mill Valley Film Festival. Her work has been featured in renowned venues ranging from Carnegie Hall, Le Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, and The Berliner Philharmonie to La Fondation Louis Vuitton, The Tel Aviv Museum of Art, and nightclubs and art galleries worldwide. Highlights of the past season include appearances as soloist at Alice Tully Hall, The Tonhalle Zürich, St. Martin-In-The-Fields, Festival Napa Valley, and Peter Jay Sharp Theater. Additional stages on which she has appeared include Victoria Hall, Le Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Cité de la Musique, The Chicago Cultural Center, The Greene Space, Le Poisson Rouge, and SubCulture NYC amongst others. Sophia began playing the cello at age two and was accepted to The Juilliard School’s Pre-College division when she was ten years old in the class of Minhye Clara Kim. After graduating high school at age 15, she continued her studies with Philippe Muller at Le Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris, completing her bachelor’s degree two years later. In 2016, Sophia was chosen as a laureate of Gautier Capuçon’s “Classe d’Excellence de Violoncelle” and worked under his mentorship for one year at La Fondation Louis Vuitton while simultaneously pursuing her graduate studies at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin under the tutelage of Nicolas Altstaedt. She currently holds a Celia Ascher Fellowship at The Juilliard School, where she is completing her Artist Diploma. Other close musical mentors include late cellist Bernard Greenhouse of the Beaux Arts Trio, composer Kendall Durelle Briggs, and pianist Noreen Polera. She currently performs on a 1914 Giulio Degani restored by her father, luthier Alejandro Bacelar. Concurrent to solo cello performance, Sophia is conversant and active in various artistic disciplines, including fashion, film, photography, and visual art. In addition to her training as a classical cellist, she minored in composition during her Pre-College studies at Juilliard, studied art at The Museum of Modern Art (NY), and film at Columbia University (NY). Her multimedia projects and collaborations have been featured at The Museum of Modern Art (NY), The Fashion Institute of Technology (NY), The Donum Estate (CA), and other galleries in Europe and the United States. She also works closely with contemporary dance and ballet; recent projects include collaborations with dancers and choreographers from American Ballet Theater, San Francisco Ballet, Sacramento Ballet, and Atlanta Ballet. Sophia’s unique, multicultural background ties her to multiple diverse communities. Known for her multilingual and communicative skills, she frequently engages in outreach programs throughout the world, with whom she works closely to promote expression through the arts. His formal training started when he was 16. When he entered college, he immediately joined the university’s pre-professional dance company, MTSU Dance Theatre. While at Middle Tennessee State University he minored in dance and had the pleasure to learn from and work with Kim Nofsinger, Marsha Barsky, Jenna Kosowski, Cynthia Gutierrez, Patty Foster, Aaron McGloin, Madia Cooper and Jesse Zaritt. After returning to Puerto Rico, he joined contemporary ballet company CoDa 21 as a guest artist for multiple productions, most notably Septime Webre’s “Alice! (In Wonderland)”. He also danced works by Jesús Miranda, Denisse Eliza, and Nacho Duato. As a choreographer, he has been commissioned by Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico, Ballets de San Juan, Instituto de Cultura de Puerto Rico, CoDa 21, and Portland Ballet in Maine. He has also collaborated as a choreographer in multiple theatrical productions with director Miguel Rosa, such as: “Billy Elliot: The Musical”, “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time”, “Once on this Island”, “Speak Not!”, and “Little Women: The Musical”. He is one of the founders of Claroscuro, a contemporary dance collective. His work has been performed by Claroscuro in international dance festivals such as SoloDuo Dance Festival in New York, EDANCO in the Dominican Republic and the Buffer Fringe Performing Arts Festival in Cyprus. In 2021, he created two professional training opportunities through the choreographic intensive ‘NEXO’ and the contemporary dance intensive ‘CONTEMPORA’. His formal dance education continued at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Dance School in 2004, under the mentorship of Noordin Jumalon. Victor’s professional career started when he joined Ballet Philippines as a Company Member and in 2015, he was promoted as a Principal Dancer. During his tenure, he graced the stage performing lead roles in full-length classical ballets such as Swan Lake, Don Quixote, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet, Snow White, among others. In addition to his classical repertoire, Victor showcased his versatility dancing the works of esteemed choreographers including Redha Benteifour, Norman Walker, Bam Damian, Carlo Pacis, George Birkadze, David Campos, Enrico Labayen, and Kun Yang-Lin. His artistic endeavors led him to be a member of Les Ballet Eloelle/Grandiva, a renowned all-male ballet touring company under the artistic direction of Victor Trevino. In 2020, he joined the Cultural Center of the Philippines Dance Workshop, a special project for professional dancers initiated by the Philippines’ National Artist for Dance, Alice Reyes. Victor joined Sacramento Ballet in 2021. With Sacramento Ballet, he contributed to captivating performances featuring the works of esteemed choreographers such as George Balanchine, Val Caniparoli, Jennifer Archibald, Julia Feldman, Isaac Bates-Vinueza, Jermaine Spivey, Caili Quan, Adam Hougland, Alejandro Cerrudo, Ihsan Rustem, Ma Cong and Marika Brussel.
